Alan Jackson tour lets the 'good times' roll with Trace Adkins

Alan Jackson may consider himself a "Small Town Southern Man," but the country music titan has long been a portrait of big time success. After hitting the 50 million mark for album sales this summer, Jackson is hitting the road for an 18-city fall jaunt.

Jackson is supporting his March release "Good Time," which topped the country charts in the U.S. and Canada and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album is his fifteenth studio recording and the follow-up to 2006's "Like Red on a Rose," produced by country songstress Alison Krauss.

The record's sales helped Jackson reach the 50 million milestone, making him only the fourth country artist to sell that many albums, according to the RIAA. "It takes a lot of ingredients to go into all those 20 years of music to it work and still be a viable sound that people want to hear, you know," Jackson is quoted in a post on his Web site.

The Good Time Tour kicks off tonight (October 2) at the Crown Center Coliseum in Fayetteville, NC, and continues down the road through November 23 at Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, CA. The trek includes an October 11 concert at the Fed Ex Forum in Memphis, TN, and a November 22 gig at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, CA. Two dates in Canada are also booked: November 13 at the John Labatt Center in London, ON, and November 14 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, ON.

Country singer Trace Adkins and newcomer James Otto will provide support throughout the tour. Adkins is awaiting the release of his eighth studio album, "Muddy Water," on November 25. The Grand Ole Opry inductee will also make his acting debut in the upcoming film "An American Carol." Otto recently released his second studio album "Sunset Man," which contains the No. 1 country single "Just Got Started Lovin' You."
