Canadian punk rocker Avril Lavigne joins fellow vocal casualties Alicia Keys and Jordin Sparks, all of whom have had to cancel recent shows due to voice problems.
Lavigne was forced to cancel back-to-back shows, April 30 at Cox Arena in San Diego and May 1 at Cricket Wireless Pavilion in Phoenix, AZ, due to a bout of laryngitis.
In a post to her fans on her website, Lavigne said, "I am at home right now taking it easy. I have been sick this whole tour, and now I have lost my voice. I have never canceled a show in my whole career and just had to for the first time ever. This sux!"
Lavigne launched her Best Damn Tour on March 5 in Victoria, BC.
