Avril Lavigne, who recently canceled two concerts in Phoenix, AZ and San Diego, CA, has just postponed six more shows of her North American The Best Damn Tour due to acute laryngitis. The newly postponed shows represent the final U.S. shows on this leg of her tour.
The pop-punk singer/songwriter had already performed 37 concerts on the tour, and has at least 49 shows left, including more than 30 dates in Europe. The second leg of her U.S. tour is scheduled to kick off in late July when she's slated to play several summer dates with the Jonas Brothers.
"My sincerest apologies to all of my fans," she said in a statement. "My intention was to
complete the rest of the tour, but tonight at sound check in Anaheim I realized this wasn't possible. Even though I have been resting my voice for days when I tried to sing nothing came out."
Postponed Avril Lavigne concerts (refunds will be available at point of purchase):
5/3 Anaheim, CA Honda Center
5/4 Universal City, CA Gibson Amphitheatre
5/6 Santa Barbara, CA Santa Barbara Bowl
5/7 San Jose, CA HP Pavilion At San Jose
5/9 Spokane, WA Spokane Arena
5/10 Everett, WA Comcast Arena / Everett Events Center
