Bonnie Raitt tour meshes politics with music
Bonnie Raitt has always been a socially active musician, and her current tours include a few political fundraisers as well.
Beginning on November 9 in Turo, NS, Raitt has shows booked through October 10 in Mashantucket, CT. She has wide open spaces in September for additional shows. Raitt has two-night bookings in Orillia, ONT; Salt Lake City, UT; and Coquitlam, BC.
Among her politically charged shows are are two Senate fundraising concerts: Portland, ME on August 11 for Congressman Tom Allen (D-ME) and on August 12 in Concord, NH, for former democratic Governor Jeanne Shaheen. The Salt Lake City show on August 25 is a benefit for “Get Out the Vote” efforts nationwide.
On Septtember 27, Raitt will team up with David Crosby & Graham Nash, Jackson Browne, and Los Lobos at the 30th anniversary Seva Foundation Concert, a non-profit foundation, founded in December 1978, whose goal is to build partnerships to serve the underserved, help build healthy communities and promote sustainability.
Raitt's most recent studio album, "Souls Alive," was released in 2005.
