TicketsNow founder Mike Domek has stepped down after 15 years as CEO of the company following the appointment of Cheryl Rosner, formerly president of Expedia Corporate Travel, as president and CEO.
Domek is remaining as Chairman, and said in a prepared statement that the company is “extremely pleased” to add Rosner to the team. In addition to her stint at Expedia, Rosner also worked in several executive positions at Hotels.com. “She has a proven track record as an accomplished corporate leader, successfully growing two of the top online travel businesses in the country. I look forward to continuing in my role as TicketsNow Chairman and working directly with Cheryl to create strategies that will drive TicketsNow to the leadership position in the industry.” . . .
TicketsNow trails only rivals StubHub and TicketLiquidator in the exploding secondary ticket seller market, according to TicketNews’ most recent exclusive ranking of the industry’s top resellers. Rosner’s hiring marks the second senior-level appointment at TicketsNow in the last two months. In April, Sridhar Murthy was promoted from CFO to the newly created position of COO. Murthy’s appointment followed the company’s closing on $34 million in institutional investment in TicketsNow, in part because Murthy has a strong background in cultivating relationships with venture capital firms.
“I am very excited about TicketsNow and helping the company reach its full potential,” Rosner said in a prepared statement. “TicketsNow currently enjoys a strong position in the industry, and I am honored to be leading the team that will achieve even greater success for TicketsNow.”
Among her responsibilities will be “developing strategies that will produce new offerings for consumers” and continue to grow the company. The company recently received some good news along that front when cable giant Comcast bought the movie ticket website Fandango. TicketsNow is Fandango’s exclusive partner for reselling tickets to live events.
