Ian Hough is Ticket News’s international reporter, specializing on the changing face of events tickets in the UK. Ian is originally from Manchester, England, and has lived in the USA for 15 years. He has a degree in Environmental Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, but enjoys exploring all and any topics, both scientific and otherwise.
Ian has been writing for TicketNews since March 2007. He relishes the sense of “Now” that the ever-changing international ticket industry creates for writers aiming to provide timely reportage.
Ian also writes for the Manchester United fanzine, United We Stand, and recently contributed to Arena Homme+, the world’s number one men’s fashion magazine. His first book, Perry Boys, a non-fiction account of the underground culture surrounding Manchester United soccer club, was published in May, 2007. He is currently editing the sequel, which deals in part with the criminal roots of the secondary tickets industry, known as “touting”, in the UK. Ian’s blog, The Nameless Thing contains various rants and criminal confessions from British underground culture combined with his fevered imagination.
