Liza Minnelli extends Broadway run by two weeks

Oscar, Tony, Grammy and Emmy award winner Liza Minnelli has extended her limited Broadway engagement, "Liza's at the Palace," by two more weeks due to overwhelming demand. Ten shows have been added to Minnelli's scheduled run at the Palace Theatre: December 16-17, 19-21, 23-24 and 26-28.

The new concerts extend the star's run to 19 total performances on top of her previously announced shows, which are set for the preceding weeks in December. Show times are 8 p.m., except a December 3 show at 6:30 p.m.; and December 24 and all Sunday matinees at 3 p.m.

Tickets are priced $125, $100, $55 (plus a $1.50 facility restoration fee) and $25 seats will be made available at box office by daily lottery.

Minnelli will be joined onstage by singer-dancers Cortés Alexander, Jim Caruso, Tiger Martina and Johnny Rodgers during the production, which also features a 12-person orchestra under the direction of conductor/drummer Michael Berkowitz along with pianist and musical supervisor Billy Stritch.

The iconic singer will perform many of her showstoppers, such as "Cabaret," "Maybe This Time" and "New York, New York," followed by a dance-filled tribute to the groundbreaking late-1940s nightclub act of Minnelli's godmother, Kay Thompson. The salute to Thompson will be performed by Minnelli for the first time onstage and will include musical hits (with the original vocal arrangements) from Thompson's act: "I Love a Violin," "Clap Yo' Hands," "Jubilee Time" and “Hello Hello."
