Pearl Jam, Tenacious D featuring Jack Black and Kyle Gass, Foo Fighters, Incubus and The Flaming Lips will perform at the third annual "VH1 Rock Honors" on July 12. The event will be in Los Angeles, CA at the Pauley Pavilion on the campus of UCLA, and this year's celebration will honor The Who with an appearance by Rainn Wilson. The Who will also perform at the end of the show.
As a result of The Who's revolutionary and era-defining influence on rock music, this will be the first "VH1 Rock Honors" that salutes just one band. The Who's monumental legacy will be celebrated with a two-hour tribute that will salute the music and the lasting impact of this groundbreaking band. The influence of The Who will be felt through spoken tributes, filmed packages and performances by the artists listed above as well as the legends themselves.
Tickets are currently on sale and priced at $300, $125 and $65, not including applicable service charges, and information can be found at Ticketmaster.com. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit multiple charities including The Teenage Cancer Trust, the Double O Charity, VH1 Save The Music Foundation and select VH1 Classic Rock Autism organizations.
