Pocono Raceway Speeds Over to New Era

New Era Tickets, the full-service ticketing subsidiary of Comcast-Spectacor, has been selected by Pocono Raceway, the super speedway in Long Pond, PA, as its full-service ticketing system and marketing partner for the upcoming NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and the ARCA RE/MAX Series events. New Era Tickets will provide the track with access management technology, including wireless scanners so the venue can now begin to track attendance and customer patterns.
The Pocono Raceway has long been recognized as one of NASCAR’s most competitive raceways. The Raceway’s unique two-and-a-half-mile track features three turns, each with its own degree of banking. The Pocono Raceway will host two NASCAR Sprint Series races: the Pocono 500 on Sun., June 8, 2008, and the Pennsylvania 500 on Sun., Aug. 3, 2008.
New Era Tickets’ ComcastTIX division also provides full service ticketing for numerous public assembly facilities and events throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region, including the Wachovia Center and Wachovia Spectrum. In addition, New Era Tickets’ marketing services will assist the Pocono Raceway team with dedicated high-level attention to fostering long term customers and generating new fans.
Acquired by Comcast-Spectacor in 2003, New Era has worked hard on securing its base in the greater Philadelphia area. As a newcomer, it isn’t afraid of taking on the goliath Ticketmaster, which it did when it entered the Philly market and became the official ticketer of the 21,000-capacity Wachovia Center.
“As we continue to grow New Era Tickets nationally, and more importantly ComcastTIX in the Greater Philadelphia Region, it’s important for us to add new clients such as the Pocono Raceway,” said New Era Tickets president Fred Maglione, in a statement. “We continuously want to offer our customers top-notch entertainment and attractions and the Pocono Raceway is something our customers have been requesting access to.”
NASCAR fans can also expect good and fair customer service from New Era. When Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band fans were shut out of tickets to the coveted shows, New Era personally called hundreds of failed ticketbuyers to give them another chance when it was discovered that some ticketbuyers purchased tickets above the allotted amount. They too, received phone calls and were issued refunds
