Ponderosa Stomp returns to New Orleans for eighth year
Wanda Jackson, Howard Tate, Roddy Jackson, Alton Lott, Carl Mann, Johnny Powers, Jack Earls and Otis Clay are among the artists on tap for the eighth annual Ponderosa Stomp in New Orleans, LA, from April 28-29.
The two-day music festival at the House of Blues celebrates the unsung heroes of the blues, soul, funk, rockabilly, garage rock, swamp pop and R&B on three stages for two nights. Tickets for the music festival are $50 per night for general admission and go on sale mid-January 2009.
Other artists include The Hi Rhythm Section, The Remains, Question Mark and the Mysterians, Lil Buck Senegal and the Top Cats featuring Stanley "Buckwheat Zydeco" Dural, Robert Parker, Cyril Jordan and Roy Loney of The Flamin' Groovies backed by The A-Bones, Little Joe Washington, James Blood Ulmer Trio, L.C. Ulmer, Little Willie Littlefield, Lil Greenwood, Jerry McCain, Kenny and the Kasuals, Classie Ballou, Deke Dickerson and the Eccofonics, Texas Johnny Brown, and Lazy Lester.
Ponderosa Stomp also includes a three-day conference (April 27-29), now in its second year. The Ponderosa Stomp Foundation is dedicated to preserving and presenting the rich history of American roots music.
