Smashing Pumpkins, ZZ Top, others to perform at annual Bridge School Benefit
Smashing Pumpkins, ZZ Top, Norah Jones, Sarah McLachlan, Jack Johnson, Josh Groban, Wilco, Cat Power and Death Cab for Cutie will perform at Neil Young’s annual Bridge School Benefit concert.
The two-day benefit event takes place October 25-26 at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA. Most of the performers will appear both days except for ZZ Top (October 25 only), and Smashing Pumpkins and Groban (October 26 only).
Now in its 22nd year, Young's benefit concert has been staged every year since being founded in 1986 by Young and his wife, Pegi, with the exception of 1987. The Bridge School works with children with severe physical impairments and complex communication needs.
The inaugural year lineup featured Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; Nils Lofgren; Don Henley; Tom Petty; Robin Williams; and Bruce Springsteen. Last year’s lineup included Metallica, Tom Waits with Kronos Quartet, My Morning Jacket, Tegan and Sara, Jerry Lee Lewis, John Mayer and Regina Spektor.
