Snow Patrol one-off concert in Australia demands strict ticketing policy

Snow Patrol, an alternative rock/power pop quintet from Northern Ireland and Scotland, are no strangers to Australian audiences after selling out multiple tours and headlining arenas across the country. But when they return to Australia on November 19 in support of their latest release "A Hundred Million Suns," they will only be doing an intimate one-off show at the 1,350-capacity Metro Theatre in Sydney.

Since demand for the show is expected to far out number the supply of tickets, the promoter, Frontier Touring Company, has laid out a fairly long and specific procedure for securing a ticket.

Tickets will be available only via the Metro Theatre (phone, Web site and box office) starting at 9 a.m. on November 18 and will be sold only by credit card with a limit of two tickets per credit card holder. The system will reject any double bookings with the same name, e-mail address or physical address.

No hard tickets will be issued at time of purchase. Instead, the ticket buyer will receive a confirmation number at time of booking. Wristbands will be available for collection at the venue beginning at 12 p.m. on November 19 to ensure attendees are in on time. Photo ID, the purchasing credit card and the confirmation number are required to collect wristbands. The credit card holder and any additional person they bought a ticket for must arrive together. Both patrons will be wristbanded on the spot.

The show is an 18-plus event. As such, both patrons are required to produce photo ID before being issued with a wristband. Anyone with a wristband that seems to be tampered with will be refused entry. Tickets are not exchangeable or transferable. The purchaser is required to attend.

Snow Patrol's "A Hundred Million Suns" debuted at No. 6 on the ARIA chart and is already certified Gold.
