Outspoken singer/songwriter, spoken word artist, actor and author Henry Rollins is gearing up for his latest road adventure - a two-month, election-season talking tour, dubbed Recountdown - a free-flowing fusion of travelogue, pop-culture, and political commentary.
Kicking off September 19 in Berkeley, CA and continuing past Election Day, the 39-date tour takes Rollins cross-country and up into western Canada, and finishes up November 10 in Salt Lake City, UT. Tickets go on sale July 17, with a pre-sale starting July 14. Fans purchasing tickets early will automatically be entered to win an autographed Henry Rollins prize package.
"Hoping that the bad times are almost over, I am taking advantage of the current situation to spend the last few nights of the catastrophic Bush administration onstage," Rollins says of the Recountdown tour in a statement. "Things will be so different after he's gone. For me, the new century will have finally arrived. Since I was last in the cities that I will be visiting on this tour, I have been fairly far and wide and have a lot of new stories to tell. I look forward to spending autumn in my favorite country."
Before Recountdown begins, Rollins' travels continue with trips to Thailand and Burma, followed by a string of European tour dates in August. Meanwhile, IFC recently filmed his performances in Cape Town (South Africa), Belfast (Northern Ireland), and at Tipitina's in New Orleans for TV specials to air later this year.
