Entrepreneurial and small business magazine Inc. has named Ticket Software LLC, parent company of TicketNetwork, to its prestigious "Inc. 5000" list of innovative and fast-growing companies for 2008. Ticket Software was ranked 27th overall based on Gross Dollars of Growth, and third of leading software companies.
The company, founded in 2002, sells Point-of-Sale 8.0 software, one of the leading software products for ticket brokers, operates a marketplace exchange with an inventory of more than 5 million tickets worth more than $1 billion, and operates more than 3,000 Web sites that sell tickets. It has grown at a staggering rate of 4,737.3 percent to generate annual revenues of $83.8 million. In six years, the company has grown from a handful of employees to more than 160, and it occupies a 40-acre campus in upstate Connecticut.
"Our annual ranking of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in America reveals tremendous growth, incredible variety, and a reflection of the times. The economy may be sluggish, but it hasn't slowed them down. Together, they bring in $185.4 billion in revenue," the magazine wrote on its Web site. TicketNetwork is the parent company of TicketNews.
Not only has the company grown into one of the leading providers of ticket software for brokers, TicketNetwork also created and hosts the largest trade show and conference for the secondary ticket industry, called Ticket Summit. For 2009, the convention will be expanded into two events, one in New York City from January 6-8, and the fourth annual event in Las Vegas from July 15-17.
In its profile of the company, Inc. wrote, "Much of the ticket-brokering business has moved online since 2002. The company has secured a significant role in that transition. The company's 40-acre campus in rural Connecticut is fueled by solar cells and biodiesel. The company also gives its employees free lunches and beverages."
Founder and CEO Don Vaccaro said in a statement that being listed on the Inc. 5000 was not only an honor for the company, but also of how the secondary ticket market has grown in stature and influence over the past several years.
"It goes without saying that TicketNetwork’s achievements would not have been possible were it not for our driven and hard-working team members who consistently think 'outside the box' towards projects that help us stand out among the rest," Vaccaro said.
"Since TicketNetwork’s inception in 2002, our core company values of creativity, integrity, dedication and entrepreneurship have been lived day to day, moving the company forward. In just six years, TicketNetwork has become the most cutting-edge technology provider for ticket sellers, eventually building one of the largest online ticket exchanges in the country. With a five million plus inventory to more than 80,000 events, TicketNetwork has quickly proven to be a leader in the ticket industry and, as an Inc. 5000 honoree, among nations worldwide," he added.
