TicketNews TV looks at the Ticketmaster / Live Nation merger, Lady GaGa and other ticketing news
In the latest edition of TicketNews TV, correspondent Michele Ann Suttile looks at a potential snag in the proposed Ticketmaster/Live Nation merger, the latest tour by Lady GaGa and some new productions on Broadway. See the video below.
Before the U.S. Justice Department makes it decision about the proposed Ticketmaster/Live Nation merger, the UK Competition Commission issued a preliminary ruling against the plan, stressing that it could thwart new ticketing entities from competing in the country.
On Broadway, movie stars are leading the casts of several new productions, including Jude Law in Hamlet, and Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman in A Steady Rain. Speaking of movies, Suttile also discusses the recently launched "This Is It" documentary, starring the late Michael Jackson.
The webcast also looks at the sale of World Series tickets, and how Lady GaGa picked up the pieces from her canceled tour with Kanye West to launch her own headlining jaunt through North America.
Launched in 2009, TicketNews TV is a fast-paced, monthly Web-based newscast that covers various aspects of the the ticketing industry, focusing particularly on the secondary ticket market.
