VMW Public Relations wins prestigious PR award
VMW Public Relations, LLC, the Greenwich, CT-based PR firm used by TicketNetwork, was recently honored by the Westchester/Fairfield Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for VMW PR's exemplary work on behalf of TicketNetwork and the secondary ticket industry.
PRSA awarded VMW PR with a gold Mercury award in the tactical category for for-profit media relations for "Advancing Secondary Ticket Market Credibility and Transparency Among Mainstream Audiences." The award was one of 40 given out to various PR, marketing and communications companies in the state during a recent ceremony in New Haven.
Viveca Woods, owner and president of VMW PR, has worked with TicketNetwork for about three years, and during that time she has been able to position 30-year broker market veteran Don Vaccaro, founder and CEO of TicketNetwork, as the foremost authority and expert in the ticketing industry. Woods has successfully arranged countless newspaper, television, radio and other interviews and speaking opportunities, including a spot in a Forrester Research report about the online secondary ticket market.
In addition, Woods's media work was instrumental in helping TicketNetwork win entrepreneurial awards from Deloitte, the Connecticut Technology Council and Ernst & Young, among others.
"The most important thing is our approach made Don very visible as an expert in the industry," said Woods, pictured below, on the left, receiving the award from News Channel 8's Desiree Fontaine. "I'm most proud of that, but I'm also very proud that the image of the secondary ticket market has improved, that we've been able to help shed that image from the '70s."
Vaccaro was effusive in his praise for Woods and her efforts. She will be among the speakers next week at TicketNetwork's industry trade show and conference Ticket Summit, scheduled for July 15-17 in Las Vegas.
"Viveca has a tremendous can-do attitude," Vaccaro said. "Over the last three years, she's made sure that everyone who needs to know about us does."
