A private settlement was reached on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 between the New York Yankees and StubHub, regarding a storefront owned by the ticket reseller just outside of Yankee Stadium. The lawsuit, filed by the baseball organization, claimed that the building would be used as a pick-up center for Stubhub, and that it would violate a scalping law which prohibits secondary ticket sales within 1,500 feet of venues. Although an agreement was reached, neither side is talking about details of the settlement or what will ultimately happen with the StubHub owned property. Yankee’s lawyer Johnathan Schiller suggested that StubHub can keep the location but the company will not be allowed use the store for customer ticket pick-up.
