Another injury puts Aerosmith back in the headlines, along with fictional band Dethklok, in the daily tour recap for August 6, as compiled by TicketNews.
Aerosmith‘s current North American tour has hit another injury related roadblock, just shortly after recovering from a recent bout of cancellations. The rock group may be forced to postpone or cancel more shows after an August 5 performance that culminated in frontman Steven Tyler falling from the stage and being hospitalized with head, neck and shoulder injuries.
Fictional death metal band Dethklok, from the Adult Swim cartoon “Metalocalypse,” will be touring in the flesh this fall as part of a co-headline bill with Mastodon. Comedian and actor Steve Martin also has new tour plans of his own as he plans to showcase his latest album of bluegrass music on U.S. stages this fall. In a similar role reversal, county singer Lorrie Morgan is crossing over from music into acting with her new role in the 2010 Broadway musical “Pure Country.”

AC/DC will keep the rock ‘n’ roll train rolling through more U.S. cities as part of their on-going 2009 tour itinerary. The hard rock heavy hitters have added two new gigs to the calendar for October 30 at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, FL, and November 19 at Amway Arena in Orlando, FL. The latter Sunshine State performance is currently the final once booked for 2009. AC/DC’s next concert is coming up this evening, August 6, at the Magnetic Hill Music Festival in Moncton, AB, after which they’ll return to their regular concert calendar with an August 8 gig at Olympic Stadium in Montreal, QC.
Pepper is fully prepped for its new fall tour plans. The rock group’s next show is August 29 at Pipeline Café in Honoluly, HI, but the main portion of the tour doesn’t start until September 12 at the Sunset Strip Music Festival in West Hollywood, CA. About 20 dates follow on the band’s calendar, which concludes October 18 at The Crazy Donkey in Farmingdale, NY. The rest of the itinerary includes stops on September 24 at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz, CA; September 30 at McDonald Theatre in Eugene, OR; October 7 at The Hub Entertainment Destination in Fargo, ND; October 9 at The Blue Note in Columbia, MO; and October 14 at Newport Music Hall in Columbus, OH, among other dates.
Bill Maher will be on the road this fall to bring his live comedy shows to audiences in the U.S. and Canada. Six shows are on the schedule at the moment, beginning September 13 at the Grove of Anaheim in Anaheim, CA, and ending November 14 at River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond, BC. The other confirmed dates are inked for October 11 at the Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts in Detroit, MI; November 6 at Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ; November 7 at the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ; and November 8 at Avery Fisher Hall in New York, NY.
Corey Smith has extended his fall tour plans with a new batch of dates later in the season. The country musician originally had shows scheduled through October 9 at George’s Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville, AR, but his itinerary now picks up again with a show on October31 at Pot Belly’s in Tallahasse, FL, and continues through a November 20 concert at Rams Head Live! in Baltimore, MD. Some of his other recent additions include November 7 at Canopy Club in Urbana, IL; November 16 at HighLine Ballroom in New York, NY; and November 17 at Higher Ground in South Burlington, VT. Another gig has also been added for the earlier part of the tour on September 25 at Classic Center in Athens, GA.
The Veronicas are supporting Kelly Clarkson on tour this autumn, but that doesn’t mean the sister duo won’t have any time for its own headline shows. Solo concerts have been revealed during their off-days from Clarkson’s outing: October 3 at Northern Lights in Clifton Park, NY; October 8 at Crocodile Rock Café in Allentown, PA; October 12 at The Chance in Poughkeepsie, NY; October 16 at Chameleon in Lancaster, PA; October 20 at WorkPlay Bar in Birmingham, AL; October 24 at Chubby Rain House of Tunes in Poplar Grove, IL; October 28 at The Maintenance Shop in Ames, IA; November 3 at the House of Blues in Dallas, TX; November 17 at Vogue Theatre in Vancouver, BC; December 4 at White Rabbit in San Antonio, TX; and December 12 at the House of Blues in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
