Bette Midler, direct from her Las Vegas extravaganza “The Showgirl Must Go On” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, will be the grand opening performer at Horseshoe Casino’s The Venue in Hammond, IN, on August 8. The 2,500-seat state-of-the-art entertainment center will feature A-list talent while retaining the charm of a smaller setting.
A stellar line-up has been booked by AEG Live to follow Midler, including Smashing Pumpkins, making their first local Chicagoland appearance in eight years; Stone Temple Pilots; Billy Idol; and Liza Minnelli;. Horseshoe Casino signed a multi-year deal with AEG Live to develop and program the new music venue.
“We are thrilled to offer The Venue to Chicagoland as a place to enjoy headline entertainment in an intimate space,” said Rick Mazer, regional president and general manager of Horseshoe Casino, in a statement. “Plus, our diverse talent lineup will offer something for everyone.”
Tickets for the opening concerts will be on sale on July 11 via Ticketmaster and at The Venue’s website.
