American singer, rockstar and song writer Bob Dylan is set to perform his top hits for fans across North America this summer and fall.

Dylan who just wrapped up a European tour will kick off one of two North American tours August 10 from Lloyminster Alberta at the Lloydminster Exhibition Grounds. The summer performances are scheduled to conclude on September 9 at Star Pavilion-Hersheypark in Hershey, PA with Grateful Dead founder Bob Weir as a special guest. Weir isn’t the only legendary rocker making a cameo appearance during the tour — legendary rocker Leon Russell will join Dylan on August 26 at PNC Pavilion in Cincinnati, OH.

On July 17, Dylan announced on his official website that there would be yet another North American tour, this one starting in the fall with his band and special guest Mark Knopfler. This tour starts on October 5 from MTS Centre in Winnipeg and will conclude November 21 in Brooklyn, NY at the Barclays Center.

Mark Knopfler is British rock guitarist and co-founder of the band Dire Straits. Knopfler will be releasing his eighth solo album, “Privateering,” on September 3. The twenty track long album is sure to be highlighted throughout the tour.

Dylan just concluded his European tour on July 22 in Carihax, France. He treated fans with performances of his top hits “Love Sick” and “Tangled up in Blue,” among many others. Dylan also captured the hearts of fans at England’s Hop Farm Festival ditching his usual instrument setting, Dylan performed “Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat” from a grand piano positioned on stage. On July 4 Dylan performed in Bonn, Germany at the World Wind Energy Conference. Fans at the WWEC 2012 were offered the opportunity to not only hear and see Dylan perform but were treated to a wine and dine barbecue with the legendary artist.

It’s no secret that Bob Dylan’s music is as American as apple pie. On May 29, 2012, Dylan was awarded the Medal of Freedom by President Barak Obama. Medal of Freedom is the nations highest civilian honor. The Huffington Post noted the President as saying “he found Dylan’s music transcendant, claiming it led to his world opening up because Dylan captured something about this country that was so vital.”

According to ISIS magazine, Bob Dylan’s band has been in the studio preparing for the new album release since early January 2012. Dylan’s 35th album titled “Tempest” is scheduled to be released on September 11, while diehards can pre-order it now. Dylan described the new album to Rolling Stone as an “anything goes” record stating that his original vision for was to produce a religious album but that proved to require “a lot more concentration to pull that off 10 times with the same thread.” North American fans are sure to get a taste of some of his new material this summer and can expect the new songs to be a large part of the fall tour dates.

Tickets for Dylan’s summer tour are already available to the public. Fall tour dates have begun public on sales with tickets to the first half of the tour already available for purchase. Presales passwords for the remaining dates are being announced on Dylan’s official website.
