The Trans-Siberian Orchestra has announced its plans for the 2009 holiday season, which includes more than 100 concerts from early November through the first days of January 2010. Two separate touring groups will tackle the massive itinerary, many dates of which feature twice-a-day performances at more than 50 venues.
The economy is spurring some touring artists to undertake good deeds on the road. Lucinda Williams announced that she’ll extend a standing merchandise credit of $5 to $7 to all of her 2009 concert attendees to help those on tight budgets. Meanwhile, tour partners Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire are offering fans a special three-song download when they donate at least three canned goods or $3 for a local food bank at each stop on the tour.

Brand New has added about 18 additional dates to its fall tour itinerary. Some of the recently added gigs are lined up for October 3 at Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL; October 12 at Roseland Theater in Portland, OR; October 27 at Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin, TX; November 10 at The National in Richmond, VA; and November 17-18 at the House of Blues in Boston, MA.
Matt & Kim have a handful of new dates queued up for their upcoming North American trek. The duo’s plans begin August 15 at the Kahbang Music and Arts Festival in Bangor, ME, and conclude October 2 at Big Orbit Soundland Space in Buffalo, NY. New stops are set for August 23 at Off Broadway Nightclub in St. Louis, MO; August 24 at Meecham Auditorium in Norman, Ok; September 6 at Neurolux in Boise, ID; September 9 at The Waiting Room in Omaha, NE; and October 1 at Reverb in Toronto, ON.
Streetlight Manifesto will follow its current run with the Vans Warped Tour with a fresh round of fall headline concerts. The venture is slated to run September 17 at Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia, PA, through October 4 at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ. Along the way, the rock band will stop for performances on September 20 at HighLine Ballroom in New York, NY; September 21 at B.B. Monotonix is gearing up for a fall tour of the U.S. The trek will pick up September 13 at the Monolith Festival in Morrison, CO, and continue over the course of the next month through October 17 at Exit/In in Nashville, TN. Along the way, the band will also perform on September 19 at Neumos in Seattle, WA; October 3 at Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago, IL; October 9 at Santos party House in New York, NY; and October 14 at Plaza Bowl in Richmond, VA, among other dates.
Primal Fear’s international plans will take the band through the U.S. for a brief late summer tour leg. The outing is currently limited to gigs from August 22 at Rock Gone Wild in Northwood, IA, through September 13 at Les Foufounes Electriques in Montreal, QC. Vic Chesnutt has outlined about 30 concerts on a fall tour of North America for this year.
