Just last week, retiring country duo Brooks & Dunn announced that part of their farewell Last Rodeo Tour was postponed, with a majority of the concerts rescheduled to late summer. But now, with the delayed tour’s July 16 resumption date nearing, the pair have another, much better announcement for fans.

Three new performance dates have been added to Brooks & Dunn’s late summer calendar. The lately revealed gigs are set for August 20 in Oklahoma City, OK; August 21 in Little Rock, AR; and August 28 in Holmdel, NJ.

Venue announcements are still forthcoming for the late-breaking tour additions. However, Brooks & Dunn’s official Web site did disclose public onsale dates for each market: July 17 in Oklahoma City and Little Rock, and July 24 in Holmdel.

The site also rolled out another big announcement: special supporting acts for the majority of the summer tour leg. Gary Allan picks up supporting duties for the first half of the upcoming dates, from the July 16 relaunch in Noblesville, IN, through the August 8 event in Tinley Park, IL. The only dates during that time that Allan won’t play are a pair of special events on July 23 and 24.

Sara Evans will also pick up some supporting duties for shows from August 13-15, while Miranda Lambert carries the next three shows over August 20-22. The final opener on the books is Merle Haggard, who closes out the itinerary with gigs from August 26 in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, through August 29 in Bethel, NY.

Brooks & Dunn will reach the end of the road together on September 2, when they give their final performance at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN.

The country duo, who have played together since 1990, were forced to postpone a portion of their farewell tour from June and early July when primary singer Ronnie Dunn was ordered by doctors to rest his voice. The duo’s other half, Kix Brooks, provides backing vocals but has not had lead vocals on a Brooks & Dunn song since 1999.
