Dance-punk sensations Cobra Starship has lined up a North American tour starting Jan. 16 in Poughkeepsie, NY, and that will wrap up on March 8 in Farmingdale, NY. The tour, dubbed “The Really Really Ridiculously Good Looking Tour” (a nod to “Zoolander,” the band’s favorite film), will see them topping a multi-act bill that also includes Metro Station, We The Kings and fellow Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen recording group The Cab.
The group just released its second album, “Viva La Cobra!,” which follows the band’s 2006 debut, “While the City Sleeps, We Rule the Streets.” It was recorded earlier this year in Brooklyn with Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump producing. The album’s first single, “The City Is At War,” drops nationwide in January, with a companion video clip also set to premiere in early 2008. In addition, Cobra Starship will be the subject of a January installment of MTV’s 52 Bands, a special feature segment that highlights one new band per week throughout the year.
Cobra Starship has toured with bands such as 30 Seconds To Mars, Boys Like Girls, Panic! At The Disco, Gym Class Heroes and Cartel, but the upcoming tour is the band’s first headlining jaunt.
