Crystal Astrachan

Crystal Astrachan, publisher of TicketNews.com, is dedicated to managing the growth, development, and marketing of the company. Crystal conceptualized the advertising program and has forged partnerships with companies related to the ticketing industry. Crystal also provides support and direction to the editor and a team of freelance reporters at TicketNews. During her tenure, she has expanded the news department and updated the website to the new, friendly format you are seeing here now.

Crystal has been a key member of the Ticket Summit Planning Committees, organizing the largest secondary ticket market conference and trade show. She thrives in the vibrant environment of the busy cyber newsroom. At TicketNews, Crystal found something that can keep up with her pace.

As an alumna of Yale College who was raised in the City of New Haven, Crystal is proud of her roots to the Elm City. She was a Sterling Scholar from Hill Regional Career Magnet High School and a Yale Club of New Haven Scholar. While studying psychology at Yale, Crystal volunteered throughout Latin America and spent a semester studying in Argentina. Since graduation Crystal has continued her scholarly pursuits, attending New Haven’s Democracy School and the Citizen’s Police Academy. Crystal also has studied mathematics at Wesleyan University and metal sculpture at the Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven.

Community service interests have sent Crystal to far-flung places in the world. Her work has included assisting with building homes in Nicaragua as part of the New Haven León Sister City Project. In Zimbabwe, Crystal distributed sports equipment to schools on a trip sponsored by the New Haven Public School System; in Honduras she taught English to local community members. She received the Rita Lipson Cup from Yale College for intellectual growth and consideration for other and the Clifford Beers Service Award for academic/personal accomplishments and for volunteer work. Crystal volunteers on the Yale Alumni Schools Committee to interview prospective applicants to Yale College.

"Imagination, novelty, and creativity are as important as oxygen in my life," Crystal says. She quotes François de la Rochefoucauld: "The only thing constant in life is change." With these ideas in mind, Crystal looks forward to enriching the ongoing development of TicketNews with her talented staff.
