Rock groups Buckcherry and Avenged Sevenfold will co-head another tour in early 2009. The new outing, which follows their recently completed stretch of fall dates, will also feature two supporting bands on the ticket. Metal band Disturbed has announced plans for a fourth tour leg, and their first of 2009, to support their recent chart-topping release “Indestructible.” Meanwhile, American icon Bob Dylan will head to Europe early next year for another stretch of dates across the mainland and British-Irish Isles. Additionally, British rockers Coldplay has added more dates to the band’s multi-night run in four different Australian cities. Finally, sister singers Beyoncé and Solange Knowles have cancelled a concert in Houston, TX, to benefit victims of Hurricane Ike due to “irresolvable scheduling conflicts.”

Bonnie Raitt has started adding shows to her 2009 tour books. The blues-rock singer-songwriter currently has five shows slated for March, beginning with a March 6 show at Stiefel Theatre in Salina, KS. From there, Raitt heads south to the Sunshine State for her next four concerts, which are all set for Florida: March 11 at Saenger Theatre in Pensacola, March 13 at St. Augustine Amphitheatre in St. Augustine, March 14 at Pompano Beach Amphitheatre in Pompano Beach, and March 15 at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater. R&B recording artist Ryan Shaw is scheduled to provide support on all Florida dates during Raitt’s brief March outing.
The Black Lips have started to unveil the first few dates of a North American tour that will take the band to more than 20 cities over a period of four weeks. After five shows in the UK stretching from February 15 through February 19, the rockers will return for a February 26 gig at Bottle Tree in Birmingham, AL. The Black Lips will tour through a March 30 concert at The Social in Orlando, FL, including commitments to appear at the 2009 SXSW Music & Media Conference in Austin, TX. Other highlights for the U.S. run include a March 5 show at Black Cat in Washington, DC, a March 9 concert at the Bowery Ballroom in New York, NY, a March 17 performance at the Waiting Room in Omaha, NE, and a March 28 show at Common Grounds in Gainesville, FL.
Gary Allan is keeping the country music coming through spring 2009 with 14 shows scattered from January through May. The singer still has three more shows scheduled for this year, though: December 11 and 12 sets at the House of Blues in Las Vegas, NV, and a December 13 gig at Peppermill Wendover Casino in Wendover, NV. Next year, Allan hits the road for a January 30 show at the Horseshoe Casino Riverdome in Bossier City, LA, and continues his travels through a May 30 gig at Penn’s Peak in Jim Thorpe, PA. Other dates include a February 21 set at the State Fairgrounds in Dallas, TX, a March 7 concert at the House of Blues in Atlantic City, NJ, and a March 18 show at Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX, as part of the Houston Rodeo festivities.
Tapes ‘n Tapes will be on the road beginning in mid-January for a stretch of 25 concerts across the U.S. The jaunt begins January 15 at The Waiting Room in Omaha, NE, and wraps on March 7 at Metro in Chicago, IL. The seven-week stint also includes stops on January 17 at Fox Theater in Boulder, CO, on January 23 at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, CA, on January 29 at Parish in Austin, TX, on February 6 at First Ave in Minneapolis, MN, on February 25 at the Bowery Ballroom in New York, NY, and on March 3 at The Earl in Atlanta, GA.
