Singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw has announced new touring plans for the U.S. this spring. The Where It Began tour will take a look back at the different stages of his career and feature solo and full-band performances. DeGraw will release his third studio album on March 31.
The Dead have expanded their Spring Fling tour plans by three dates, with presales starting tomorrow (February 17). … Not surprisingly, Madonna took top honors in Billboard‘s 2008 Top Moneymakers report for the 2008 concert and touring season. … The usually annual Ozzfest is on hold for 2009 as namesake musician Ozzy Osbourne takes time off from touring to hit the studio. … Meanwhile, Rock on the Range will return for a third year with Mötley Crüe, Slipknot, Alice In Chains, Avenged Sevenfold and Korn leading the way as entertainers.

The Derek Trucks Band has added a handful of new U.S. concerts to the end of the group’s national tour. Four shows have been added beginning with a May 10 concert at Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara, CA, and followed by a June 5 gig at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL, a June 9 session at Royal Oak Music Theatre in Royal Oak, MI, and an August 8 event at Boarding House Park. The band has also announced plans to tour Japan in September, with a total of five shows set for the country.
3 Doors Down has extended its current tour into March and April. The band’s next show is February 17 at Broadbent Arena in Louisville, KY, and originally had more than five additional concerts booked through February 28 at the House of Blues in Atlantic City, NJ. But now the band plans to be back on the road with a March 26 concert at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. Two more shows follow: April 3 at Green Valley Ranch Resort & Spa in Henderson, NV, and April 4 at Tempe Beach Park in Tempe, AZ.
Randy Travis has added six new dates to his 2009 concert itinerary. The recent additions are penciled in for April 18 at Barona Valley Ranch Resort & Casino in Lakeside, CA; May 8 at Inlet Beach in Ocean City, MD; May 10 at Patriots Theater in Trenton, NJ; June 26 at Arena Theater in Houston, TX; June 27 at Winstar World Casino in Thackerville, OK; and July 11 at Villages Amphitheater in Fayetteville, GA. Travis’s next show is March 2 at the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City, FL, and he has nearly 20 performances scheduled through an August 29-30 run at Northern Lights Casino in Walker, MN.
The National has mapped out a brief East Coast tour for the U.S. and Canada this spring. The seven-city run launches May 21 at Kool Haus in Toronto, ON, and wraps May 29 at Electric Factory in Philadelphia, PA. Along the way, the band will stop for a May 22 concert at Metropolis in Montreal, QC, a May 23 show at the House of Blues in Boston, MA, a May 24-25 run at 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, a May 27 session at Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, GA, and a May 28 gig at Lincoln Theater in Raleigh, NC. The National is scheduled to appear next at the Harvest of Hope Festival on March 8 in St. Augustine, FL.
Iron and Wine will visit seven cities across the U.S. this spring for a series of 11 concerts. The run starts off with two shows in Seattle, WA: May 4 at Vera Project and May 5 at Triple Door. From there, the indie folksters led by Sam Beam will play May 6-7 at Swedish American Hall in San Francisco, CA; May 8 at Masonic Hall at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, CA; and May 9 at The Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA. Two Chicago concerts follow on May 12 at Lakeshore Theatre and May 13 at Schuba’s Tavern, as well as a May 16 gig at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO. The tour ends with a two-night stand at Abrons Arts Center in New York, NY.
