Despite economic problems faced the world over, Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet Tour is still seeing unprecedented demand for this summer’s additional European shows. Several shows sold out in a matter of minutes, prompting promoters to add additional shows in select cities.
Country star Keith Urban has finally unveiled his summer tour itinerary several months after confirming Sugarland, Taylor Swift and Dierks Bentley, among others, as special guests. … The Decemberists have mapped a 16-city U.S. tour for this spring which includes festival stops at SXSW and all four days of Bonnaroo. … Finally, the Michigan-based Rothbury Festival has confirmed that it will return for a second year, after months of speculation about the event’s survival this year.

Liza Minnelli finished her limited-run engagement at New York’s Palace Theatre early in January. Now the famed performer has filled in her schedule with international concerts set from early spring through late summer. In addition to shows in South America and Europe, Minnelli has seven shows in the U.S. and Canada: February 24 at Hayes Hall in Naples, FL; April 7 at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, ON; April 10-11 at River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond, BC; April 24 at Chrysler Hall in Norfolk, VA; and August 28-29 at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA.
Jack’s Mannequin has confirmed a handful of new dates for the band’s extensive spring tour. New concerts are booked for April 19 at Sound Academy in Toronto, ON; May 2 at Center Stage in Atlanta, GA; May 12 at The Blue Note in Columbia, Mo; May 13 at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, OK; May 18 at the Grove of Anaheim in Anaheim, CA; and May 20 at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, CA. The tour kicks off March 30 at Warfield Theatre in San Francisco, CA, and closes May 24 at the House of Blues in Las Vegas, NV.
Cannibal Corpse will be making the rounds with the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival this summer, but before beginning those duties, the hardcore metal band will complete its own 21-city tour of the U.S. and Canada this spring. The outing begins April 2 at The Orange Peel in Asheville, NC, and wraps April 27 at Freebird Live in Jacksonville, FL. Other gigs include an April 4 show at The Marquee in Tulsa, OK, an April 10 concert at Croatian Cultural Centre in Vancouver, BC, an April 15 event at Garrick Centre in Winnipeg, MB, an April 18 session at The Rave Eagles Club in Milwaukee, WI, and an April 25 set at Alley Katz in Richmond, VA.
GZA has plans to tour this spring sans the iconic Wu-Tang Clan. The artist, also known as The GZA and The Genius, has eight concerts booked for Canada and three for the U.S., starting with a March 23 show at Sugar Nightclub in Victoria, BC, and ending with an April 9 set at Harpers Ferry in Allston, MA. Other confirmed concerts include a March 26 show at The warehouse in Calgary, AB, a March 30 set at Pyramid Cabaret in Winnipeg, MB, an April 1 set at The Englert Civic Theatre in Iowa City, IA, and an April 2 show at Abbey Pub in Chicago, IL.
MSTRKRFT will launch a North American tour this spring with stops in Mexico, Canada and the U.S. The 13-show jaunt opens on March 5 at Aniversario Bombay in Cholula, MEX, and closes out April 18 at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, CA. Along the way, the band will stop for a March 7 gig at Plaza Condesa in Mexico City, MEX, a March 19 performance at The Independent in San Francisco, CA, an April 3 session at Webster Hall in New York, NY, and an April 11 show at Metropolis in Montreal, QC, among other dates.
Barry Manilow has a solid schedule of shows at the Hilton in Las Vegas, NV, this year, but the iconic singer recently unveiled a couple additional shows away from the Strip. The new shows are booked in Washington State, starting with a March 14 concert at Spokane Arena in Spokane and continuing with a March 15 performance at the Comcast Arena in Everett. Manilow’s next concert is February 11 at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, RI.
