Today’s recap includes festival updates, tour announcements and more, as compiled by TicketNews on April 14, 2009.

More than 30 dates are now confirmed for Aerosmith & ZZ Top‘s summer tour. Select ticket sales begin on April 17. Meanwhile, female rock veterans Blondie & Pat Benatar have lined up a late summer trek of their own, though only a dozen dates have been confirmed thus far.

In festival news, San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival has lined up an impressive list of headliners for its second year: Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band and the Beastie Boys. Also, the first-ever LA Acoustic Music Festival will hit the Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica, CA, on June 6-7.

Lynyrd Skynyrd has lined up a handful of new dates for its upcoming summer tour, including a new show on the band’s run with Kid Rock. New solo gigs are lined up for May 1 at Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi, MS; July 4 at Capitol Federal Park in Bonner Springs, KS; September 9 at Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, AZ; September 15 at The Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA; and September 19 at Green Valley Ranch Resort & Spa in Henderson, NV. The Southern rock titans begin their run with Kid Rock on June 26 at Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, FL, closing out the tour on August 2 at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY. The itinerary has been expanded by a day with a new July 17 concert at Comerica Park in Detroit, MI, on the books.

Chris Isaak will hit the road sooner than expected with a round of new concert dates in early summer. After some spring festival dates, the summer run opens with a recently added concert on July 19 in Rochester, MI, and wraps September 6 at Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys, CA. Other new gigs include a July 28 show at Keswick Theatre in Glenside, PA, a July 29 performance at the Newport Sunset Music Festival in Newport, RI, an August 5 event at Beacon Theatre in New York, NY, and an August 8 concert at Verizon Wireless Theater in Houston, TX. Another new show also falls later on the tour: September 2 at Edgefield Winery in Troutdale, OR. The summer run is anchored with an August 21-23 run at The Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA.

Darius Rucker’s solo career is going strong with more than 40 concerts booked through the end of the year. The former Hootie & The Blowfish musician has added eight new shows to his U.S. tour plans, which continue April 18 at Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS, and end December 5 at Belterra Casino Resort in Florence, IN. Recently added concerts are: April 19 at Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, IN; April 22 at Stanford Theatre in Beaverton, OR; May 31 at Richmond International Raceway in Richmond, VA; June 12 at Wheeling Isle Racetrack in Wheeling, WV; July 19 in Bay City, MI; August 28 at Ramona Bowl Amphitheatre in Hemet, CA; September 3 at Sandy City Amphitheater in Sandy, UT; and October 17 at Konocti Hardbor Resort & Spa Amphitheatre in Kelseyville, CA. Rucker is opening for country group Rascal Flatts on select dates over the summer.

Ladysmith Black Mambazo has some recently expanded U.S. tour plans for this summer and early 2009. Fifteen concerts have been booked for the States so far. This year’s run begins July 18 at Da Vinci Days Festival in Corvallis, OR, and ends August 2 at Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center in Westhampton Beach, NY. The world music group gets an early start in 2010 with more shows from February 16-17 at Jesse Auditorium in Columbia, MO, through March 14 at Centennial Hall in Tucson, AZ. New summer dates are set for July 19 at Tower Theatre in Bend, OR, and July 22 at Jeanne Wagner Theater in Salt Lake City, UT. Next year’s new offerings are February 19 at McCain Auditorium in Manhattan, KS, and May 12 at Beckman Auditorium in Pasadena, CA.
