Today’s recap includes concert, tour and venue announcements and more as compiled by TicketNews on December 26, 2008.

We end this holiday week with the loss of an iconic Broadway voice. Actress and singer Eartha Kitt died at the age of 81 on December 25 after a battle with colon cancer. Over the course of her 60-year career, Kitt brought characters to life on the stage, silver screen and television, but she is best known for her holiday hit single “Santa Baby.”

B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City is doing its part in these tough economic times, offering a 50 percent discount on select concert tickets for the unemployed. … Hot on the heels of a holiday tour with wife Amy Grant, country star Vince Gill has added a new round of tour dates to his 2009 itinerary. … Hardcore, rapcore and screamo bands will unite for the Saints & Sinners Tour next year, featuring Hollywood Undead, Senses Fail, Haste the Day and Brokencyde.

Our final story for the week comes from the UK, where alternative rock group Blur‘s two reunion shows at New Hyde Park in London are hot tickets. While the two dates at the 50,000-capacity venue are the only officially confirmed performances for the quartet, a number of secret gigs are reportedly also on the books, and the British rockers are also speculated frontrunners for the headlining spot for the Glastonbury Festival.
