At the top of the day’s news, we have a full itinerary and announcement for Motley Crue‘s upcoming 2009 tour with Hinder and Theory of a Deadman. The iconic ’80s rockers were on the road earlier this summer for their inaugural Crue Fest trek through 40-plus cities. Word is that Crue Fest will return in summer 2009 after the band completes a European jaunt.
The Eagles recently extended their “Long Road Out of Eden” tour through early 2009 and became the first band whose tickets are listed on Ticketmaster under an experimental “no fee” system. … The pop-jam band O.A.R. has also extended their 2008 tour into next year with a stretch of new headlining dates. … Finally, we have a report on the passing of drummer Mitch Mitchell, the ground-breaking beat-keeper for The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Mitchell, 62, apparently died of natural causes after recently completing the final dates of the Experience Hendrix tour.

Saliva will follow up its current tour with Drowning Pool with a block of new solo dates in December. The rockers’ next show is November 15 at Great Falls Civic Center in Great Falls, MT, and the jaunt wraps November 18 at El Rey Event Center in Blackfoot, ID. Saliva will be back on the road for the new run on December 2 at Click’s in Tyler, TX. Eight solo shows and two radio-sponsored concerts are slated for the remainder of the month, ending with a December 20 gig at Midland Theatre in Kansas City, MO. Other stops include a December 4 show at Sammy T’s in Huntsville, AL, and a December 6 concert at Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, FL.
Ledisi is getting in the spirit of the season with a Christmas album and holiday tour. The R&B songstress kicks off her 10-city jaunt on December 4 at Carolina Theater in Durham, NC, and wraps up December 22-23 at Ram’s Head in Annapolis, MD. Along the way, the Grammy nominated singer-songwriter will stop for a December 11-14 run at Yoshi’s in San Francisco, as well as a December 16 show at Dedry Experience in Chicago, IL, and a December 19 gig at B.B. King’s in New York, NY.
Lykke Li is the latest up-and-coming European artist to make a splash in the U.S. indie scene. The Swedish singer-songwriter has booked her latest North American tour for early 2009, beginning January 31 at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue in Washington, DC, and continuing through February 19 at Antone’s in Austin, TX. The 10-city trek includes a February 2 gig at Webster Hall in New York, NY, and a February 15 show at The Fillmore in San Francisco, CA. Three Canadian dates are also on the books: February 4 at Club Soda in Montreal, QC, February 6 at Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto, ON, and February 11 at Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC.
Blue Oyster Cult made more additions to next year’s itinerary. The classic rock crew now has almost 20 shows currently set for 2009, starting with a January 20 concert at Ram’s Head On Stage in Annapolis, MD, and concluding with a September 19 show at the grape Festival in Lodi, CA. Other new dates include a January 30 show at Ameristar Hotel & Casino in Kansas City, MO, a March 19 gig at Slim’s in San Francisco, CA, a March 22 performance at Grove of Anaheim in Anaheim, CA, a March 30 show at Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, CA, and a June 27 concert at Lions Park in Cheyenne, WY.
The Charlie Daniels Band is tacking more dates onto the 2009 schedule, with new shows booked through October. Currently, Daniels and his fellow musicians are slated to begin March 6 at Long Center for the Performing Arts in Austin, TX. More than two dozen shows are booked through Daniels’s October 15 performance at Cumming County Fair & Festival, include an April 25 appearance at the Stagecoach country music festival in Indio, CA, and an August 8 show at The Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. The next show scheduled for Daniels is tonight (November 14) at Hoosier Park in Anderson, IN.
Andrew Dice Clay is bringing his often controversial brand of comedy to a few cities across North America over the next months. Clay’s next show is November 22 at the Comedy Festival at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV. He follows that show with a December 12 gig at Paramount Theatre in Seattle, WA, and he closes out the year with a December 27 show at Massey Hall in Toronto, ON. The only other show on the books for Clay is a January 16 performance at Nokia Theatre Times Square in New York, NY.
