Classic rock band Fleetwood Mac has extended its tour across North America. The original announcement set the jaunt at 15 dates, but the recent addition of Midwest and West Coast dates has expanded the run to 44 shows.
Progressive jam band Umphrey’s McGee will begin a new 45-date trek within the next week. … Hard rock quartet Shinedown is going to continue support behind their 2008 release “The Sound of Madness” with more tour dates in 2009. … More than a dozen A-list musicians are expected to turn out for the We Are One inaugural celebration on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on January 18. … Finally, the first ever Jagermeister Country Tour will feature Pat green and special guest Randy Houser. A full itinerary has not been announced, but the tour will start January 31 in Atlanta, GA.

The Bird and the Bee, composed of Inara George and Greg Kurstin, will launch a new headlining tour in support of their second studio album “Ray Guns Are Not Just the Future.” The 10-show run begins with a February stint on the West Coast, from February 5 at the Casbah in San Diego, CA, through February 12 at Chop Suey in Seattle, WA. The remaining shows will hit the East Coast in March, from a March 3 gig at Stage One in Fairfield, CT, through a March 7 set at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York, NY. Other highlights include a February 9 concert at the Independent in San Francisco, CA, and a March 5 performance at Tin Angel in Philadelphia, PA.
The Disco Biscuits have extended their winter 2009 tour into spring with their first round of West Coast dates since 2007. A single concert is booked for Nevada on April 4 at the Crystal Bay Casino in Crystal Bay. The remaining dates on the new tour leg are all California-bound, beginning with an April 3 set at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco and wrapping with a two-night stand on April 10-11 at the House of Blues in West Hollywood. The remaining Cali concerts are April 5 at Eureka Theater in Eureka, April 7 at Catalyst in Santa Cruz, and April 9 at the House of Blues in San Diego. The winter tour begins January 16-17 at the Calvin Theatre in Northampton, MA, and runs through March 7-8 appearances at the Langerado Music Festival in Miami, FL.
Tricky will leave his native UK this March for a month-long jaunt across the U.S. Currently set at eight performances, the tour will begin March 3 at the Fillmore at Irving Plaza in new York, NY, and run through March 27 at Doug Fir Lounge in Portland, OR. Along the way, the alternative artist will perform on March 6 at the Langerado Music Festival in Miami, FL, on March 13 at Epiphany Episcopal Chicago in Chicago, IL, and on March 24 at the Music Box at Fonda in Los Angeles, CA, among other dates. Before hitting the States, Tricky has a few UK shows lined up, including a February 20 performance at Shepherds Bush Empire in London, England.
Kenny G has outlined plans for two U.S. tour legs in winter and summer, separated by a spring run across the UK. The first round of U.S. shows runs from January 23-25 at The Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, through March 27 at Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg, FL. The next round is currently scheduled to pick up with an April 14 show at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA, and close out September 26 at Mansion America Theatre in Branson, MO. The musician also has another brief run set up in Vegas from July 10-12, also at the Orleans Hotel & Casino.
Bonnie “Prince” Billy will launch a nearly 20-show North American trek later this year. The singer-songwriter will hit the road on March 12 at Buskirk-Chumley Theater in Bloomington, IN, and continue his touring duties through an April 10 gig at The Pageant in St. Louis, MO. Other dates include a March 14 show at the Vic Theatre in Chicago, IL, a March 18 show at Turner Hall Ballroom in Milwaukee, WI, a March 26 concert at Moore Theatre in Seattle, WA, and an April 2 performance at El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. Five Canada shows are also slated for the run, beginning with a March 21 show at Pyramid Cabaret in Winnipeg, MB, and wrapping with a March 25 set at Vogue Theatre in Vancouver, BC.
