Rockstar Energy Drink will lend its brand name to a new touring festival during the upcoming late summer season. The inaugural Uproar Festival makes its debut at the end of summer with Disturbed and Avenged Sevenfold slated to co-headline the festival’s main stage. A second stage will feature sets from Stone Sour, HaleStorm, Hellyeah, Airbourne, Hail the Villian, and New Medicine.

The hard rock fest will hit sheds in a total of 36 markets across North America, beginning August 17 in Minneapolis, MN, and ending October 4 in Madison, WI. Most dates on the itinerary have been fully revealed at this point, but city and venue announcements are still forthcoming for planned events on September 5, 7, 8 and 21.

The hefty summer schedule includes performances on August 21 at First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, IL; August 31 at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, VA; September 10 at the Superpages.com Center in Dallas, TX; and September 25 at Gorge Amphitheatre in Quincy, WA.

Six stops are also on the books for Canada. One day falls early in the schedule on August 24 at Molson Canadian Amphitheatre in Toronto, ON, while the remaining five stand as a block at the end of the tour, including events on September 26 at Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, BC, and October 2 at MTS Centre in Winnipeg, MB.

Presales for the late summer tour begin June 8. The majority of public onsales follow on June 12, except for tickets to the September 19 show in Tempe, AZ, which go on sale May 15. Ticket prices will range from $10 to $69, according to Billboard. More details are available on the official Uproar Web site.

Rockstar already lends its name to the annual metal-genre Mayhem Festival, which runs from July through August this year and features headliners Korn and Rob Zombie. The brand also ran the early year, hardcore-based Taste of Chaos tour for several seasons before calling off its national leg in 2010.

Festival producer John Reese told Billboard.biz that the new Uproar Festival is meant as a hard rock stand-in for the axed Chaos venture.

“Taste of Chaos had pretty much run its course in America. It’s still a pretty massive tour outside of America. We were just kind of running out of bands that fit within the profile of what Taste of Chaos was,” Reese commented in the interview. “So rather than trying to beat that horse, we decided to come up with a whole new concept, make it a later summer or fall festival, bring in some cool components.”
