After five years as an entertainment staple on the Las Vegas strip, Elton John is ending The Red Piano show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The iconic performer will follow his current run of February shows with a final month-long engagement in April, completing his residency with an April 22 performance.

“Caesars Palace has been honored for the past five years to host one of the world’s most beloved performers, Elton John,” said Gary Selesner, president of the Las Vegas resort, in a statement. “Elton John is an icon in the music industry with international stature as not only a performer but also a gifted songwriter. We are grateful to Elton and his talented band for bringing so many memorable performances to Caesars Palace.”

Tickets for the final performance will go on sale beginning February 5 at 10 a.m. (PST). Seats for John’s remaining performances have face values ranging from $100 to $250.

John gave his first Red Piano performance on February 14, 2004, and was originally booked for a three-year run totaling 75 shows. However, overwhelming demand led to an extension of the original deal. When John takes his final bow in Sin City on April 22, it will be his 241st performance.

The Red Piano is a multimedia overview of John’s career, blending video montages with live performance. John collaborated with photographer and director David LaChappelle on the production.

The next performance of The Red Piano is tonight (February 4), with the remaining performances set for February 6-8, 10, 11, 13-15, and April 7, 8, 10-12, 14-16, 18, 19, 21, 22. John also has a full slate of shows with fellow rock pianist Billy Joel scheduled for March and May.
