Hard rock crew Avenged Sevenfold canceled the remaining dates on its fall North American tour after frontman M. Shadows was ordered to rest his voice.

According to a statement posted on the band’s Web site, Shadows had difficulty singing during the band’s tour opening September 6 show at the WAMX Festival in Huntington, WV. Shadows visited his doctor after the problems persisted and was diagnosed with vocal fatigue and prescribed rest.

“I feel as if I’m letting so many people down, especially the fans we were supposed to see this month,” Shadows said in the statement, “but after a little rest it’ll be back to the usual craziness everyone expects of A7X.”

Avenged Sevenfold will return to the road in time for the band’s October 15 show in Osaka, Japan. The band will be touring the U.S. again in November on a jaunt with Buckcherry, Shinedown and Saving Abel.
