Seatwave founder Joe Cohen is the latest speaker to join Ticket Summit NYC
Ticket Summit NYC this week welcomed ticket industry veteran Joe Cohen, founder of the popular UK-based ticket Web site Waldorf=Astoria in New York, is the ticket industry's leading trade show.
Cohen, a former senior executive with Ticketmaster Entertainment and online dating site Match.com, will speak on two panels, "Who's On First? The New Paradigm in the Ticket Marketplace" and "Getting Global: Ticketing & International Expansion." This is the second time Cohen has participated in Ticket Summit, having been a speaker at the Las Vegas show this past summer. The fourth incarnation of the Las Vegas Ticket Summit is scheduled for July 15-17 at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino.
“Following the success of last year’s Ticket Summit, I’m very much looking forward to getting involved again in 2009,” Cohen said.
From the panel description, the New Paradigm discussion will center on how the Primary, Secondary and Futures markets "have fueled a New Paradigm of continuous change in the industry."
The Getting Global panel will concentrate on "the major trends in event ticket sales throughout Europe and the rest of the world."
TicketNetwork executive Dan Pullium, one of the organizers of Ticket Summit, said Cohen's participation is much appreciated. TicketNetwork is the creator and host of Ticket Summit, and it is the parent company of TicketNews.
"Joe is one of the visionaries of this industry, and we're extremely proud to have him on board. His insight and perspective are invaluable," Pullium said.
