Prosecution can use personal emails in Vitale ticket lobbying case
Personal email messages exchanged by an accused conspirators in an illegal lobbying case in Boston can be used as evidence by the prosecution, following a recent court ruling in the case. According to the Boston Globe, the email messages were sent and received by former accountant and self-named lobbyist Richard Vitale, a friend of former Massachusetts Speaker of the House Salvatore DiMasi, who is also part of the case. The emails allegedly detail much of the illegal lobbying done by Vitale on behalf of Massachusetts ticket brokers, who were trying to get the state's anti-scalping laws repealed.
