Chinese authorities crack down on ticket scalpers
Chinese officials are continuing their fight against ticket scalpers near the famed Bird's Nest Olympic stadium, according to China Daily. Police arrested more than two dozen scalpers over the summer, a year after the Beijing Olympics, who were allegedly preying upon tourists who still frequent the stadium and other Olympic venues. Many of those arrested were part of a gang that may still have other scalpers in their midst, according to China Daily. The scalpers were allegedly generating hundreds, even thousands, of yuan (Chinese currency) per day.
