Did Dame Edna and Michael Feinstein Find a Gullible Reporter?
After a public spat involving two estimable performers and their similarly named Broadway solo shows, it now turns out that the recent war of words was probably nothing more than a good, old fashioned publicity stunt. Dame Edna and Michael Feinstein first squared off when it was reported that the two had plans to hit the Great White Way in separate productions with uncannily similar titles: "All About Me" and "It's All About Me." Now the pair have "reconciled" and conjoined the two acts into one called "All About Me." While neither Feinstein nor Dame Edna have acknowledged the stunt, the reporter who helped make the feud public believes the collaboration was part of the plan from the start.
