Grammy Award-winning country music star George Strait, who holds the record for the most No. 1 hits on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, has been tapped as the headliner for the June 6 opening event at the new $1.1 billion Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX.

Joining Strait will be Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton and “Dancing with the Stars” champ-turned-singer Julianne Hough. Tickets go on sale February 28 with prices ranging from $38.50 to $137.50

“George Strait is one of the most successful and prolific country music artists of all time,” said Jerry Jones, owner and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys, in a statement. “We wanted one of the greatest entertainers in the world to open what we believe is going to be one of the greatest sports and entertainment venue in the world.”

Strait’s concert is the first of several concerts expected to be staged at the new 100,000-capacity stadium this summer. In addition to the Cowboys’ home games, the stadium already has on its books the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic (relocating from the Cotton Bowl in Dallas), the 2010 NBA All-Star game, the 2011 Super Bowl and the 2014 NCAA Men’s Final Four.
