The original pop-rock sibling trio Hanson announced its plans today for a spring residency in New York City. For five nights — April 26-30 — brothers Zac, Taylor and Isaac will be onstage at the Blender Theater at Gramercy in the Big Apple as they prepare for their next album release and a performance at the 2010 Bamboozle Festival.

Each night that the brothers are at the New York venue, they will perform a different album from their catalogue in its entirety. The “Five of Five” engagement will kick off with a performance of 1997’s breakthrough “Middle of Nowhere” before moving on to 2000’s “This Time Around” on April 27, 2004’s “Underneath” on April 28, and 2007’s “The Walk” on April 29.

Hanson will conclude the residency with a special performance on April 30, featuring the world premier of the group’s next studio album. The as-of-yet unnamed effort is scheduled for release in May 2010.

Ticket sales for the “Five of Five” shows began today, December 15, on the official Hanson Web site. The pop trio is offering a limited number of ticket packages, which include passes for all five nights in New York as well as one- or two-day passes to the 2010 Bamboozle Festival. Hanson is scheduled to perform at the festival in East Rutherford, NJ, on May 1.

The ticket packages are $215 to $265 for fan club members. Non-members can purchase a fan club subscription with their ticket package for $255 to $305.

“It’s great to be a part of this year’s Bamboozle festival, especially on the heels of a new record,” middle brother Taylor Hanson said in a statement. He added, “We wanted to bring together a live music event that was really unique, something that allows us and our fans to share the music we’ve created over more than a decade like never before.”

The oldest Hanson brother, Isaac, also commented, “We could not think of a better way to span the old and the new music than in this live setting.”

Though Hanson was the It-group of the late 1990s with their hit song “MMMBop,” the group soon lost label support and turned to an independent career. In recent years, Hanson has maintained a dedicated fan base and launched several successful tours. Most recently the trio completed a fall charity tour of the U.S. with fellow indie pop band Hellogoodbye.
