Web lottery for Jackson memorial tickets
Michael Jackson's family has made 17,500 seats available for his memorial service on Tuesday at the Staples Center. Tickets will be issued via a lottery on the Staples Center Web site. Winners will be notified on Sunday.

Michael Jackson rehearsal unveiled in new video clip
In a brief video, an exclusive release from media outlet CNN, Michael Jackson is seen rehearsing for his planned "This Is It" concert series just days before his untimely death on June 25. (See embedded video below.)

Olympia Entertainment opts out of Detroit venue lease
Olympia Entertainment has notified the City of Detroit, MI, that it will not exercise its option to extend its lease for another 20 years on the Joe Louis Arena and Cobo Arena after it expires on June 30, 2010. Cobo Arena will return to the City of Detroit, which will help the venue to keep the North American Auto Show in Detroit.
Olympia, however, is interested in a new lease just for Joe Louis Arena and has been working with the City this past year on a new lease specifically for Joe Louis Arena. Both venues were covered under the current lease, which would have automatically renewed for another 20 years if Olympia Entertainment did not notify the city of its decision by June 30, 2009. Live Nation is sued over fees and 'No Fee Wednesdays' at PNC Bank Arts Center in New Jersey
Concert promotions giant Live Nation is being sued by a New Jersey resident who claims the company's parking and other fees at PNC Bank Arts Center, and Live Nation's recent marketing initiative "No Fee Wednesdays," are deceptive and unfair to consumers.
In the lawsuit filed on behalf of Michael Katz of Freehold, NJ, who is represented by the law firm Galex Wolf, LLC, it claims that Live Nation's $6-$12 per ticket parking fee, which is charged whether a person walks or drives to a show at the venue, is "arbitrary and unfair." In addition, the lawsuit also challenges the charging of a "charity fee" of as much as $1.25, even though the charity is not named. Full Story...
Alice in Chains tour charts September dates ahead of new album release
Grunge metal group Alice in Chains is hitting the pavement later this year in preparation for its first new album release in more than a decade. The band launches its one-month venture on September 4 at 9:30 Club in Washington, DC.
Just eleven dates have been confirmed so far for the outing, which concludes September 28 at The Fillmore in San Francisco, CA. Other performances include a September 9 show at the Fillmore at Irving Plaza in New York, NY, a September 19 gig at the House of Blues in Chicago, IL, and a September 26 event at Roseland Theater in Portland, OR. The 13-city outing kicks off August 2 at the House of Blues in Lake Buena Vista, FL, and closes August 22 at Pure in Las Vegas, NV. Black Eyed Peas tour returns Down Under after four-year absence
For the first time since 2005, hip-hop group the Black Eyed Peas are making a return visit to Australia and New Zealand with their The E.N.D. World Tour in October.
The quartet -- apl.de.ap, Fergie, Taboo and will.i.am -- will perform in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth and Auckland from October 1-13, supporting their album "The E.N.D," which debuted at No. 1 in Australia and No. 2 in New Zealand, and has become the group's first U.S. album chart topper.
