Crossover musician Jewel will continue to explore her country roots this summer with plans for the one-month Star Light Café Tour.

The 20-date tour begins June 1 at Fargo Theatre in Fargo, ND, and wraps June 27 at Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, WA. Along the way, Jewel will also stage her acoustic show on June 4 at Vic Theatre in Chicago, IL; June 16 at The Midland in Kansas City, MO; and June 24 at the Knitting Factory in Spokane, WA.

Beginning with a June 11 concert at the Cobb Energy PAC in Atlanta, GA, singer-songwriter Radney Foster will warm up the stage for Jewel’s headlining set. But on June 21, Jewel will share lead billing with Brandi Carlile as the two musicians co-headline an event at the Botanical Gardens in Boise, ID.

Public ticket sales for the Star Light Café Tour begin April 23. So far, only one event has been listed on Ticketmaster.com: a June 17 set at the Stiefel Theatre in Salina, KS, where ticket prices range from $45 to $65. Ticketing information for other tour stops will be updated on Jewel’s official Web site.

Over the past year, Jewel has been writing and recording her new country album “Sweet and Wild,” slated for release on June 8.

The forthcoming title will stand as the eighth studio record for Jewel, who first forayed into country music with 2008’s “Perfectly Clear.” Last year, she took yet another new direction, releasing her first independent effort, the children’s album “Lullaby.”

“There is nothing more rewarding for me than getting the chance to perform some of my new songs along with the hits I’ve had over the course of my career,” Jewel said in a statement. “These shows really become a sneak peek into my songwriting and my life.”

Jewel’s most recent tour was also an acoustic outing in fall 2009, which had 15 performance dates on the U.S. itinerary.
