Just in time for the weekend, co-headlining artists Kanye West and Lady Gaga are trying to clear some of the confusion surrounding their 2009-2010 Fame Kills Tour after a delayed announcement and disappearing information sparked speculation about the tour’s status.

Tour producer Live Nation released the schedule in the afternoon on September 18, four days after the announcement was originally supposed to be released. As expected, the tour will hit 34 cities, beginning with a November 10 concert at the U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix, AZ, and concluding January 24 at American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX.

The complete 2009-2010 itinerary for West and Lady Gaga began circulating earlier in the week, but a statement from the latter artist’s spokesperson intimated that the publicized routing was either incomplete or incorrect. “Live Nation has yet to officially announce the tour and the correct routing,” the spokesperson told the Los Angeles Times.

A September 11 announcement on Lady Gaga’s Web site had stated presales would start earlier this week, as supported by details on the event pages, until both Gaga’s early statement and the event listings vanished without a word.

The first public onsales for the tour are now scheduled to begin on September 25, preceded a couple days by fan club presales. Complete ticketing and tour information is available on the tour’s official Web site.

A spokesperson from Interscope Geffen A&M Records, representing Lady Gaga, told TicketNews that the delay in the tour’s announcement was caused by last-minute date changes on the Fame Kills calendar. However, he did not immediately reply to questions as to what those changes were or when they were finalized.

The initial itinerary and the one announced today are nearly identical, with a few slight changes. The duo’s November 11 concert is still on for San Diego, CA, but has been moved to the San Diego Sports Arena, and one concert was added on December 23 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, OH. Meanwhile, an announced January 19 performance at New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, LA, was removed, leaving a four-day hole in the schedule.

Requests for comment were not immediately returned by Live Nation or Kanye West’s representative.

Presales will first open to members of West’s fan club, an interesting decision in the aftermath of the rapper’s well publicized antics at the September 13 MTV Video Music Awards.

During Sunday’s VMA ceremonies, West walked on stage during an acceptance speech by Taylor Swift, taking the mic away from the young country star and telling the audience that R&B singer Beyoncé deserved the award instead. In the days since the awards, West has apologized for his actions multiple times but has continued to be scrutinized by media and fans alike.
