It has just been announced that Kelly Clarkson will tour with The Fray as a part of the 30+ tour. “30+,” the name given to the tour that will have performances in more than 30 cities, will begin on July 21 according to MTV. It will begin in Ridgefield, Washington and on September 15, and conclude on September 15 in Nashville, TN. Other notable cities included in the tour are: Las Vegas, NV; Cincinnati, OH; and Virginia Beach, VA.

Clarkson, who won the first season of American Idol in 2002, will perform songs from her newest album Stronger on the 30+ tour. Stronger is Kelly’s fifth full-length album that was released on October 24 in 2011. “Clarkson’s fifth effort has been certified gold and spun off the hit singles ‘Mr. Know-It-All’ and the title track, ‘Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You),’ which mark her ninth and tenth top 10 hits,” comments MTV. Sales for Clarkson’s single ‘Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You) passed the 3 million mark earlier this month, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Also on tour with Clarkson this summer is the American pop rock band The Fray. The band will be promoting their third studio album Scars and Stories, which was released February 2012. The Fray burst into mainstream music back in 2006 with their hit singles “Over My Head” and “How To Save A Life.”

Opening for Clarkson and The Fray is LA-based band Carolina Liar. This alternative rock band is most widely known for their singles “Show Me What I’m Looking For,” and “I’m Not Over” which shot to the No. 3 spot on Billboard’s Modern Rock Chart, according to the band’s official website.

In addition to her summer tour with The Fray, Clarkson is also one of four celebrity judges on the new show Duets. Duets premiered on Thursday, May 24 on ABC. The show, which will continue to air on Thursday nights, also includes Jennifer Nettles of the duo Sugarland, along with R&B singers Robin Thicke and John Legend as the other three judges. Each celebrity will choose two people to sing a duet with each week with one winner receiving a recording contract with Hollywood Records, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In a statement on her official website Clarkson stated: “The simple fact that I get to go out and find two people that I believe in, sing with them every week, and help them accomplish their dream is an amazing thing that I can’t wait to be a part of!”

With hit singles, a new reality show, and a concert tour Kelly Clarkson is poised to have a successful 2012. Tickets to see Clarkson, The Fray, and Carolina Liar’s 30+ tour are on sale now.
