Acclaimed performer Leonard Cohen will follow his fast-selling and high-demand spring tour of the U.S. with a second round of shows later this year. The final leg of Cohen’s 2009 World Tour begins October 17 at BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, FL, and ends its 15-date run on November 13 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA.

While Cohen plans to visit many new markets during the one-month trek, he will also make repeat appearances in several cities. He’ll return to New York City for an October 23 concert at Madison Square Garden to follow his three earlier shows at the Beacon Theatre and Radio City Music Hall. The acclaimed Canadian will also perform his third concert in Chicago on October 29 at Rosemont Theatre in Chicago, IL, an encore of his spring two-night stand at the Chicago Theatre.

In addition, the 74-year-old crooner is scheduled to perform one of the final concerts at The Wachovia Spectrum in Philadelphia, PA, before the venue closes. That performance is scheduled for October 22, while the indoor arena’s final confirmed event at this point is a pair of Pearl Jam shows on October 28 and 30.

Tickets for the autumn outing will be available to the general public starting August 3, with most sales handled via Ticketmaster.

The current tour features on-stage support by backing vocalists Sharon Robinson and the Webb Sisters, as well as a band composed of Roscoe Beck, Neil Larsen, Bob Metzger, Javier Mas, Rafael Gayol and Dino Soldo. As with Cohen’s earlier tour leg, most concerts are expected to clock in at approximately three hours without an opening act.

After 15 years out of the national limelight, Cohen made his return to the U.S. concert stage with his February 19 performance at the Beacon Theatre. The much-lauded engagement was quickly followed by the announcement of a two-month spring tour of the U.S. and Canada, which wrapped June 2 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO.

Cohen is currently on tour in Europe. His final overseas performance of the year is booked for September 24 at Ramat Gan Stadium in Tel Aviv, Israel.
