Madison Square Garden (MSG) remained the undisputed leader in TicketNews’ exclusive venues rankings for the week ending Sunday, February 27. With a respectable power score of 4.71, MSG has now taken top honors in the venues rankings for three weeks in a row.

Helping MSG’s numbers this week were ticket sales for the New York Knicks, who dominated this week’s Top Sports Events rankings, following their acquisition of All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony. Also boosting MSG’s performance this week were sales for Lady Gaga’s two night stand last week. Bon Jovi hits the stage later this month, as does pop icon Elton John. The crowd pleaser WWE tour also makes a stop at MSG in March.

Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX returned to the rankings, landing in the top ten for the first time in three weeks. Supporting the Stadium’s performance this week were ticket sales for the kids’ favorite Monster Jam Trucks tour, which performed at the venue this weekend. Popular motorsports continue with the Monster Energy Supercross tour arriving in April. Kenny Chesney and the Zac Brown Band also appear in April, and Taylor Swift takes the stage in October. Dallas Cowboys Stadium power scored a 2.20.

Up two this week to number three was the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, ON. The Centre is home to both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors, and in the coming months, the venue has a jam-packed musical roster as well, including Lady Gaga, who arrives later this week, Bob Seger in April, and German rock phenomenon Rammstein in May. Glee Live and Katy Perry hit the stage in June, and Taylor Swift arrives in July. The Air Canada Centre finished the week with a power score of 1.92.

In music, the venue will have Bon Jovi tonight, Lady Gaga next week, Bob Seger in April and Katy Perry and Glee Live in June. In other performance, Disney On Ice: Toy Story 3 arrives for several shows later this month.

Dropping two this week to number five was the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. Staples is of course home to the Lakers, at number five in this week’s Top Sports and leading their Pacific Division, as well as the Clippers and Kings. In music, Lady Gaga plays the arena later this month, followed by Glee Live in May and Taylor Swift for four shows in August. The Staples Center power scored a 1.72 this week.

The Rodeo will host a number of popular musical artists this year, including Keith Urban, Grammy winners Lady Antebellum and the Zac Brown Band. “Disney On Ice: Toy Story 3” arrives for a series of performances in April.

Celine Dion’s much anticipated return to Las Vegas brought the Caesars Palace – Colosseum to number seven in this week’s rankings. Dion’s March 15 debut performance at Caesars Palace will be the first of a scheduled three year run at the venue. The Caesars Palace – Colosseum power scored a 1.51 this week.

After a month-long hiatus, the United Center in Chicago, IL, returned to the rankings, in at number eight and power scoring a 1.45. The home to Central Division leaders the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago Blackhawks, also has Bon Jovi arriving for two shows next week, Lil Wayne in April and Taylor Swift in August.

Back in the top ten for the first time since early January, the American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL, hit at number nine and power scored a 1.32 this week. Helping to bring the arena back were ticket sales for the Miami Heat, who made it to number three in this week’s Top Sports. A late March-early April run of Disney On Ice: Let’s Celebrate will be followed by appearances by Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga later in the month. The WWE tour arrives in May.

As NHL and NBA playoffs approach, indoor sports arenas which double as concert venues scored big this week, comprising seven of the top ten venues. The draw of Celine Dion led to an unusual appearance of a Vegas arena in this week’s top ten.

TicketNews Exclusive Rankings and Power Scores are based on ticket sales for venues from the TicketNetwork Exchange™, the world’s largest secondary market exchange. A Power Score illustrates a given venue’s category-specific significance. Two factors are used to calculate a power score: total ticket sales for a venue, and total ticket sales within the category. As such, power scores should only be used to compare venues within a particular category.
