With its headliners announced this week, tickets for the annual Bonnaroo festival are among the onsales for the weekend ending February 20 as compiled by TicketNews.
Bonnaroo, which was first launched in 2002, is unique from many other music festivals in that it strives to be environmentally friendly while catering to a wide array of music tastes. Set to be held this June in Tennessee, organizers recently announced that the festival headliners will be the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead, Phish, and the newly reunited Beach Boys.
Also among the weekend’s concert onsales are tickets to upcoming tour stops from Madonna. The Material Girl, who is launching a massive worldwide tour in promotion of her most recent album, has tour dates in Quebec and Montreal on sale this weekend.
Several of country music’s biggest stars have concerts on sale this weekend as well. First, Keith Urban has dates in Austin and Borgata among the weekend onsales. His fellow country crooner Brad Paisley has an upcoming concert in Cincinnati on sale today. Paisley will be joined on tour by The Band Perry and American Idol reigning champion Scotty McCreery. Rounding out the country onsales are tickets to see the Zac Brown Band in Oklahoma City.
Rounding out the weekend onsales are tickets for MLB teams for the upcoming 2012 season. First, Philadelphia Phillies tickets are on sale this weekend. After a strong 2011, which saw the team fall to the eventual World Series Champion St. Louis Cardinals in the first round of the playoffs, the Phillies are once again a favorite to take the National League. In addition to the Phillies tickets, also on sale this weekend are Cleveland Indians tickets and Toronto Blue Jays tickets.
“Onsales” is a ticketing industry term describing when tickets initially go on sale to the general public. Each week, tickets are released by promoters, venues and others to dozens of events, but the number of tickets available can vary significantly between locations.
