Still riding high on the breakthrough success of 2007’s “Oracular Spectacular,” indie’s electro-rock darling MGMT is prepped for the release of its next album and a corresponding spring-to-summer tour.

A sold-out April 12-13 stand at The Fillmore in San Francisco and an April 17 set at Coachella in Indio will propel MGMT into their nearly two-month tour spree across the United States and Canada. The tour launch coincides with the April 13 release of the band’s third studio album, “Congratulations.”

The on-off itinerary features scatted concert dates through early May, but the bulk of the tour is booked from May 28 at Avila Beach Bowl in Avila Beach, CA, through June 20 at Riverside Theatre in Milwaukee, WI. MGMT’s plans include a June 1-2 run at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, OR; a June 11 gig at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO; and a June 18 set at Riviera Theatre in Chicago, IL.

Starting tomorrow, April 8, MGMT will open a limited round of ticket presales for the June tour leg. The bulk of public onsales begin April 9, though tickets are already available for the group’s Morrison and Chicago concert dates.

In most markets, tickets are general admission and priced around $30, though reserved seating is an option for some events.

MGMT made waves internationally with the 2007 release of “Oracular Spectacular,” which was both a critical and commercial success. The album was largely driven by the mainstream popularity of its three singles: “Time to Pretend,” “Electric Feel” and “Kids.”

Following the success of “Oracular,” MGMT became a regular on the festival circuit, and even gained some high profile followers. Paul McCartney admitted being a fan and then tapped the group to open a couple of summer 2009 concerts at Fenway Park in Boston, MA.
