Michael Jackson’s memorabilia will hit the road this fall, with the first of three expected stops scheduled for the O2 Arena in London, ENG. Arts and Exhibitions International (AEI) reached an agreement with John Branca and John McClain, co-special administrators of Jackson’s estate, for the touring exhibition.

Outside of London, the tour’s other two markets have not been divulged. AEI is a division of AEG Live, the promoter of Jackson’s “This Is It” concert series, which would have launched this summer at the O2, if not for the performer’s untimely death.

According to The New York Times, Jackson’s mother Katherine opposed the deal, which should bring about $6 million to the estate. She has opposed many of the moves of the administrator over the past few months, so this is not surprising.

“In putting together this project, selecting an exhibition company to entrust with carrying on Michael’s legacy with dignity and respect was of the utmost importance to us,” said McClain and Branca in a joint statement. “We feel we have chosen the right partner for this venture with Arts and Exhibitions International.”

“We are honored to have a role in celebrating Michael Jackson’s artistry and the place he holds in our hearts,” added John Norman, president of Arts and Exhibitions International. “As we begin to develop the exhibition, we recognize that we carry a considerable responsibility to Michael Jackson’s family and fans in helping his legacy live on. We will work with those close to him to develop a meaningful experience that reflects his immeasurable talent and spirit.”

AEI has been involved in numerous touring exhibitions, including “Diana: A Celebration,” “King Tut,” “Real Pirates: The Untold Story of the Whydah from Slave Ship to Pirate Ship” and “America I AM: The African American Imprint.”
