Teen superstar Miley Cyrus, who launches her first UK tour in December, is an obvious hit across the pond.

Her original eight-date UK tour has been expanded to 10 shows with the addition of two more London concerts, due to fan demand.

After quickly selling out her December 13-14 concerts at London’s 02 Arena, two shows were added for December 19-20. The shows follow her December 16-17 concerts at Dublin’s 02 Arena that sold out in 10 minutes. Tickets for the new London concerts go on sale June 19.

Other UK shows in the AEG Live-promoted tour include Birmingham’s LG Arena on December 22-23 and Manchester’s Evening News Arena on December 27-28.

Cyrus’s UK tour follows closely behind her 45-date North American tour that runs September 14 to December 2. Both tours are Cyrus’s first as her herself and not as her alter ego Hannah Montana character from her hit Disney Channel series and film.

TFL and ATBS for ticketing professionals

Cyrus’s North American tour has drawn considerable attention for using paperless tickets (and its restrictions) on the entire tour; paperless tickets are not being used for her UK shows, but tickets will have the purchasers name on it and a credit card must be shown at time of pickup at will-call or before entry to the arena.

Paperless ticketing is the likely response to the ticketing controversy that engulfed her 2007-08 sold-out Best of Both Worlds tour. While concerts quickly sold out, tickets became readily available on resale sites, causing an outbreak of heated criticism from the parents of Hannah Montana fans.
